Happy Festivus

This was our second annual (maybe bi-annual) Christmas party with our friends in Tennessee.  This year Anna and Bryan McCarter hosted at their new house.  Of course our parties are never dull and it was mandatory for everyone to dress up as your favorite Christmas character.  Blake and I were Uncle Eddie and his wife (I can't remember her name) and Grady was Kevin from Home Alone from the scene where he is in the bathroom singing "I'm dreaming of a white christmas".  It was great because our friend's Ashely and Justin were the bad guys from Home Alone and Bryan and Anna were Mary and Joseph.  Anna definitely played the Mary part well since she is due Jan 2!

Oh Christmas Tree!

Last weekend we went to House Mountain Farms in Corryington, TN and cut down our first family Christmas tree.  Since we travel for every holiday, I wanted to do something that was OUR family tradition.  It was a great day and we had a lot of fun.

This is our tree

Notice how we didn't get a family picture.  We never seem to take a picture all together, oh well.  (That's not our tree)

10 Months

This is a little late since Grady did turn 10 months on November 21, but I happened to find the sticker in the car, so we had a little photo session.  At 10 months Grady is all over the place.  Says da-da constantly, mommy is "na-na",  recognizes his dog moose, bottle is "ba-ba", and he loves to be loud.  He gives great kisses and definitely is a cuddle-bug.  He loves to eat my hair (which is gross), but I don't care.  We are eating baby food still, but we like bread, bananas, cheerios, and anything that we can do on our own.

Grady's eating habits

Grady has never been a picky eater, as you can tell in this picture.  He definitely has a few rolls here and there, but they are precious, right?!  Anyway, lately Grady LOVES to WEAR his food.  His hair is not spiked from hair gel, rather it is a lovely combination of oatmeal and applesauce that he ate for dinner.  Where is his shirt you ask?  Oh yeah that was completely covered in bananas, carrots, cheerios, and applesauce.  Got to love it.

Christmas (early) in Mississippi

So I have caved in and decided to become a blogger.  I am so bad at giving my family pictures and telling them about important things such as doctor appointments, Grady's milestones, and even everyday thoughts.  I am not witty or funny, but my family is, therefore I can at least write about what they are doing.

My blog name: Right in the Middle.  Why?  Well, since we are right in the middle of our two families (one in Michigan and the other in Mississippi) I figured that was the cleverest I could get.  Also, Tennessee seems to be in the middle of our country, right?

Here is a little glimpse of our Thanksgiving.  We headed south for a few days to Mississippi and though it was a fast trip, we still had a great time.

Over the past two weeks Grady has just "grown up".  He clears his throat when he wants our attention, he does this awesome "spin move" when he is hyper and yells as loud as he can when he is doing it, and he absolutely loves his peak-a-boo book and even knows how to lift up all the flaps.  I am just so proud of him, it's crazy to think sometimes that he is mine.  Well, I will try my hardest to update this with more pictures and videos because I know the grandma's love seeing him.
